Schell’s Fresh Hop Citra Pils

CIMG7236

Super excited to try this. All I can tell you is that it’s a Pils made with fresh Citra cones. They don’t seem to have any mention of it on their website. Go and tell @Schellbrewer to fix that. Feel free to throw in a GFY for good measure lol.

Stats:
German Pilsner. 5.0% ABV. Minnesota. Limited Release.

Hazy pale yellow color. It has a really nice, dense head.

Those citra hops come through big time. Tons of mango, pineapple, and citrus fruits. It smells more like fruit salad than a beer.

Mouthfeel is perfect. Medium-light body with medium-high carbonation. Light and easy drinking, but still has some mouthfeel.

Tropical fruit for days, but not as much as the nose. What I really like is the grainy malt finish that isn’t too overwhelmed by the fruity taste.

Really liking this one. Citra is such an interesting hop, and it’s fun to see it in all it’s glory. 90 points.

I still haven’t had a citra beer. I need to find me one, and maybe some of the hops themselves.
