Sheaf Stout

CIMG1135

Had my eye on this beer for awhile. It’s a sweet stout brewed originally by Tooth and Co., but is now owned by the Foster’s group (think Fosters and Corona). Let’s see if it tastes better than the other beers in the line-up.

Stats:
Sweet Stout. 5.7% ABV. Australia.

Very dark black in color with a nice tan head.

Lots of chocolate on the nose with a sweet, malty, caramel presence. Some nice roasted notes coming through. I also get this kind of wheaty thing too for some reason.

Pretty thick mouthfeel with a little bit of carbonation, just a bite, but a pretty hearty beer.

Lots of roasted malts and caramel, with a bunch of chocolate thrown in. kinda of a milky back end taste, with some roasted flavors sticking on the palate with a hint of coffee.

I’m liking this stout, it’s on the sweeter side, but great for a dessert or to warm up with on a cold day. I’d recommend it. 90 points.
