Ninkasi ReNEWale 2013 ESB

A new year calls for a ReNEWale. This year’s is an ESB brewed with 2-row, Crystal, Cara-pils, and Munich malt with Nugget, Northern Brewer, and East Kent Goldings hops.

Stats:
Extra Special Bitter. 5.8% ABV. Oregon. Limited Release.

Dark copper color, quite reddish. Not too much head, but the lacing is really nice.

The nose is fairly closed, just a hint of grainy malt and caramel.

Mouthfeel is medium body with fairly high carbonation. Pretty easy drinking beer.

Some caramel and malt flavor with a floral hop note. The finish is lovely with a cracker-y malt character.

I’m enjoying this beer quite a bit. Pick it up. 88 points.
