Bridgeport Smooth Ryed

And another new seasonal from Bridgeport. They are always putting out new things to try, which I guess is a good thing. This is a rye beer that boasts “a pound of Centennial hops per barrel.”

Rye Beer. 6.3% ABV. Oregon. Limited Release.

Light coppery color. Head is decent, not much lacing.

Lots of spicey rye on the nose, and kinda musty smelling with a hint of pine.

Mouthfeel is surprisingly thin. It just turns into gas by the time you swallow.

Spicey rye, little bit of hops. It kinda tastes like rye bread that’s been sitting around awhile.

Not digging this, and what’s the deal with the mouthfeel? 80 points.
