Alameda Yellow Wolf Imperial IPA

This is a new brewery for me. The label is not so appealing and the price point is very attractive. Not much info on this beer from the website. They suggest pairing it with sunshine, so that’s cute and all.

Imperial India Pale Ale. 8.2% ABV. 103 IBUs. Oregon.

Dark yellow color with quite a bit of haze. Nice little head on here.

The nose is pretty nice actually. You get that heavy citrus, with orange and grapefruits, but I’m getting this lovely black pepper component that I’m really liking.

Mouthfeel is pretty good. Medium-high body with carbonation on the lower side.

The palate is similar to the nose. The citrus is there, hint of spice and black pepper, but not as much as the nose with the finish ending on a pine note.

You can group this in with about a gazillion other imperial IPA’s, but the price point makes it a decent purchase. 88 points.
