Odin Thor’s Equinox

Here’s a limited release from Odin. No information about the ingredients, but they did say they kept the phenols minimal to showcase the malt. A bit of an American take, so let’s check it out.

Belgian Strong Dark Ale. 9.0% ABV. 20 IBUs. Washington. October-March Availability.

Dark red color, decent little head and lacing.

I’m getting a lot of spices on the nose. Black pepper, hint of coriander. A little bit of plums and dates.

Highly carbonated and a really light body.

You get those spices right up front with cracked black pepper and coriander. Little bit of caramel and raspberries on the mid, then fades to a spicey backend. The finish has this wonderful toasted almond flavor that I’m loving.

Not going to blow you away, but I’m enjoying the flavors in this beer. The finish is particularly nice. Give it a shot. 88 points.
