Brau Brothers Sheephead Ale

Here’s another beer from Minnesota’s Brau Brothers. This one is an IPA with “loads of caramel malts and too many Cascade hops.”

American India Pale Ale. 7.7% ABV. Minnesota.

Caramel color, not much head on this IPA.

Hoppy nose with a little bit of grapefruit and pine. Definitely some malt caramel coming through as well.

Mouthfeel is solid. Medium body, medium carbonation.

Hoppy up front with grapefruit and pine, but quite a bit of caramel and an earthy-almost dirt like flavor on the mid, with considerable bitterness on the finish.

I prefer more of a West Coast style IPA, but not too shabby. 86 points.
