Iron Horse IPA

Another local IPA to try. This one from Ellensburg, so that’s already a bad start (Go Vikings!). No mention of the hops on their website.

American India Pale Ale. 6.0% ABV. Washington.

Hazy copper color. Looks like some large bubbles on the head which fade away fairly quickly.

Smells Cascade heavy. Mostly citrus hops on the nose with a little bit of caramel and/or a bit of diacetyl. I have to say, this smells exactly like the IPA that I used to brew.

Medium carbonated with medium-light body. A hair light for my liking.

Floral and citrusy hops on the palate with quite a bit of caramel malts coming through. Low-medium bitterness.

I’ve never had a beer that so closely resembled one of my homebrews before. Too much caramel malts coming through, not enough hop. 85 points.
