Pike Harlot’s Harvest

Pike is getting in on some pumpkin action. The beer is named after the prostitutes that used to work in the brothel that Pike Brewing formally used to be. This beer features Pils, Pale, Special B, Vienna, and Caramel/Crystal malts with Nugget and Mt. Hood hops. Of course, it’s a pumpkin beer so it also features pumpkin puree from Oregon, brown sugar, cassia bark (cinnamon), allspice, vanilla bean, nutmeg, ginger, and clove.

Pumpkin Ale. 8.5% ABV. 30 IBUs. Washington. Fall Seasonal.

Pretty dark compared to most pumpkins. Looks a lot like Coke, not much head.

Typical pumpkin pie spices coming through with a little bit of caramel.

Mouthfeel is very nice. Medium-full body with medium carbonation.

I like the balance on this one. Spices come through, but not over-bearing. Nice caramel malt flavor.

I’m liking this one. It’s got a fairly typical flavor profile but it’s got a nice balance and I like the darker malts. 88 points.
