HUB Double Dry Hop IPX

I really love single hop beers. They let the hop shine and it’s almost a brewing lesson in a glass. Of course, this single hop is Cascade, and that’s a hop I’m very familiar with. It’s the signature PNW hop flavor that dominates so many beers out here. It’s also a favorite of mine. Let’s see how this one tastes.

American India Pale Ale. 6.0% ABV. 60 IBUs. Oregon. Limited Release.

Golden to orange color with a fairly nice head and even better lacing.

Obviously, those Cascades come through a lot with a nice citrusy aroma that makes me think of oranges and lemons. Just a hair of the pine. The malt isn’t cut out of the nose, though.

Mouthfeel is on the lighter side, but not bad. Easy drinking IPA, not over-the-top.

Lovely hop flavor with a beautifully balanced malt profile. Huge flavor, but not a huge beer. Nice malt finish with a little bit of bitterness. The flavor is almost floral instead of that citrus/pine component on the nose.

Really excellent beer. It’s a standout in a world of IPAs. 89 points.
