Maritime Pacific Imperial Pale Ale

I rarely drink beer from this local brewery, but only because I don’t come across it often in bottles. I was happy to see a sixer of this imperial pale ale and gave it a try. It appears to essentially be an IPA brewed with all Cascades.

India Pale Ale. 7.5% ABV. Washington.

Orange color, head doesn’t last too long. Leaves a little bit of lacing on the glass.

Definitely some Cascades coming through on the nose, but it’s fairly malt forward with a slighty bready characteristic.

Decent mouthfeel. Medium-low mouthfeel with a medium carbonation.

Lots of malt on the palate. Slightly bready, slightly crackery with a little bit of citrus, but more of a spice and herbal hop profile. Medium bitterness, more so than the hop flavor. Okay finish.

Solid beer, but doesn’t excite me too much. 85 points.
