Icicle Khaos Kolsch

My parents just returned from Leavenworth and brought me back a growler full of Icicle Brewing’s Khaos Kolsch. I believe this is the first beer that I’ve tried from this new brewery. My folks also brought me this sweet glass, so what better glass to review it with.

Kolsch. 5.0% ABV. 21 IBUs. Washington.

Yellow golden color with a big white head, but retention is not great.

Mostly a sweet grainy-ness on the nose with a hint of apples and honey.

Mouthfeel is what you would expect. It’s light and easy-drinking, but still has weight.

Grainy, with a hint of honey drizzled mellon and apricots. It finishes with a very malty flavor and it sticks on your palate.

Yeah, this is pretty damn good. It’s not quite Chuckanut’s, but it’s way up there. Definitely something you should try if you are in town or you see it on tap somewhere. It is Summer after all. 88 points.
