Rogue Latona Bob

CIMG6197

Created for the Latona Pub in Seattle for their 25th Anniversary and dedicated to Bob Brenlin. This seems to be in the amber/red ale category but isn’t listed on Rogue’s website. This beer features 2-row, Caramel Wheat and Rye malts with Meridian and Liberty hops.

Stats:
American Amber Ale. Oregon. Limited Release.

Dark red to chocolate in color with a nice off-white head.

Way hoppy nose. It has that lovely orange, grapefruit citrus play from the hops and a bit of caramel from the malt.

Mouthfeel is excellent. Medium to full bodied, which I wasn’t expecting.

Again, surprisingly hoppy. It’s got some citrus and pine flavors. A little bit of caramel flavor also comes through, and just a tad of milk chocolate.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this beer, but I wasn’t expecting this. That’s a good thing. It’s a hopped up red bordering on a Black IPA. 90 points
