Anderson Valley Boont Amber Ale

Supposedly one of the classics of the style. I’ve had it a few times in the past and I keep buying it, so I guess it’s not bad. No information on the beer.

American Amber Ale. 5.8% ABV. 15 IBUs. California.

Nice dark coppery color with a small, but fluffy white head.

I’m getting a little bit of caramel, vanilla, and just a hint of milk chocolate. Reminds me a bit of a candy bar, but definitely not as sweet. The hops do make an appearance here and it’s got a musty character.

Mouthfeel is light-medium body with medium-high carbonation.

Caramel, vanilla, hint of honey but it also has a nice herbal hop quality with a low-medium bitterness. Nice biscuit on the finish.

This is just a solid brew that hits all of the amber ale qualities on the head. 89 points.
