Trade Route Ginger Pale Ale

Another “flavored” beer from Trade Route is this Ginger Pale Ale. In addition to “premium malts” and Saaz hops it has Ginger, Galangal (another type of ginger) and orange peel. I think their Mango Weizen is actually pretty solid, so let’s see how this one stacks up.

Spiced Beer. 5.0% ABV. Washington.

Burnt orange color. Nothing to write home about with the head.

The nose smells like ginger and a hint of black pepper. Really not getting much else there.

Highly carbonated with a very light mouthfeel. Meh.

Nice ginger flavor up front with a little bit of sweetness and malty-ness on the mid, then it just falls flat on the backend and finish. Barely as wisp of ginger left in your mouth, only a tiny bit of sweetness on the finish.

Meh. 81 points.
