Skagit River Shorty’s Premium Lager

This is listed as an amber lager on BA, but Skagit River has no mention of it on their old website. I believe some of the proceeds of this beer go to helping bulldogs or something. Anyways, let’s give it a go.

American Amber Lager. Washington. Limited Release.

Amber color. Not too much head, but actually leaves some impressive lacing.

Some sweet and slightly grainy malts. Suggestions of red fruits and perhaps a hint of diacetyl.

Mouthfeel is surprisingly full bodied with a bit of carbonation to cut through.

Fairly sweet and grainy, with some red and stone fruits making an appearance. The hops also show up here giving it a hint of pine and earth, with a dose of bitterness. The finish is quite long with a Grapenuts grainy-ness.

Not bad, but a bit on the sweet side. My personal preference would learn towards a dry-crisp lager, but this is a decent brew. 85 points.
