Nebraska Melange A Trois

The last two beers that Frank sent me where the Melange A Trois and Black Betty. I shared Black Betty with some friends. It’s a great big, oaky RIS. This Belgian Blonde ale is aged in French Chardonnay barrels. It looks delicious.

Belgian Strong Golden Ale. 10.0% ABV. Nebraska. Limited Release.

Nice bright orange color. Really great head on here.

Nice Belgian style nose with a bunch of yeast coming through and just a ton of fruit. There’s a hint of oak, honey, apricots, etc. lovely nose.

Mouthfeel is a light medium body with higher carbonation.

Lots of yeast and oak up front which rolls into the fruit, with a mostly light, stone fruit. Some bitterness pops up on the backend to balance it out. Hint of vanilla, hint of wine, hint of booze, and a lovely toasted coconut flavor. Long finish of honey and oak.

What a tasty beer. Great balance with flavor and complexity to match. 93 points.
