American Blonde

The Breakaway IPA was fantastic, so I’m glad I was able to get the other two releases from this brewery. Today is the Blonde. Session beers FTW!

American Blonde Ale. 4.5% ABV. 16 IBUs. Washington.

Hazy pale yellow color. Not much head on this one, but does have a little bit of lacing.

Actually, the nose is pretty good. It’s got a nice little bit of grain mixed with a lemon citrus peel play. It doesn’t smell sweet or anything like corn. It just smells good.

Mouthfeel is a light medium body with a heavy and crisp carbonation.

Surprisingly fruity. It’s got this tropical fruit component with a hint of grainy malts. The length is actually pretty great with a hint of vanilla and custard with just the right amount of hops to balance it out.

I’m actually really liking this. This is basically a great lawnmower beer. It’s crisp and clean but delivers on flavor and quality. 90 points.
