Fremont Cowiche Canyon Fresh Hop IPA

CIMG4485

Okay, I lied. This is the last fresh hop of the year. This organic fresh hop features pale, Crystal, Carapils, and Vienna malts with Citra and Simcoe hops. 120 lbs per batch, apparently. If you’ve been reading my blog, you know how much I love Fremont. I really believe they are making some of the best beer in this state.

Stats:
American India Pale Ale. 6.0% ABV. Washington. September Release.

Burnt orange color with a nice little head and some great lacing.

Nice bright hop nose with a lot of citrus and stone fruits coming through. Apricots, apples, peaches and so on with just a hair of earth and pine.

Mouthfeel is well made. It’s medium bodied, a bit on the lighter side, but a crisp, clean beer.

Stone fruits up front with a little bit of pine and mushrooms. Tons of length, with a perfect balance, while still maintaining some hop aggressiveness. The length tastes just like peaches it’s ridiculous.

Fremont continues to put out some of the best beer in this state. They are continually surprising me with the quality and finesse of their beer. 90 points.
