Goose Island Pere Jacques
Every once in awhile, I run across some Goose Island. I love this brewery for their Belgians with possibly the best labels ever. This dubbel features 2-row, Wheat, Caramel, and Special B malts with Rye Flakes and Saaz hops.
Stats:
Dubbel. 8.0% ABV. 26 IBUs. Illinois.
Dark iced tea color. Head doesn’t last at all.
Nice Belgian nose with some yeast and sweetness coming through. I get a lot of red fruits on this one, with a little brown sugar.
Mouthfeel is actually pretty light-medium and frothy.
Lots of red fruits, honey, yeast, and a slight metallic character. A bit bitter on the back, with a little bit of cough syrup.
Pretty tasty stuff, definitely worth a purchase. 87 points.
