Stone Collaboration Green Tea IPA

CIMG4190

The newest Stone collab is with Baird and Ishii, and all the proceeds are donated to Japanese Tsunami Relief. It’s a double IPA brewed with green tea. It should be interesting, especially since it rolls in at over 9% ABV.

Stats:
American Double India Pale Ale. 9.2% ABV. California. Limited Release.

Orange color, not much head. Tons and tons of sediment.

Smells like a double IPA. I’m not sure if I actually smell the tea or not. It’s really just very hoppy, with a lot of pine and citrus.

Mouthfeel is actually pretty highly carbonated with medium body. I feel like the carbonation lightens the body up quite a bit.

Holy booze, batman. Heavy pine, a little bit of citrus, just a hair of malt on the back.

Not impressed at all. It’s like an unbalanced double IPA. I’m not really getting any green tea, just a ton of hops and booze. Take it down a notch. 82 points.
