Pike Pale Ale (Heirloom Amber Ale)

For some reason, Pike’s Pale is also called Heirloom Amber Ale. There are 2 entries on BA for the same beer. So whatever. This beer features Pale, Munich, Crystal, and Wheat malts with Magnum, Glacier, and Goldings hops.

American Amber Ale. 5.0% ABV. 32 IBUs. Washington.

Dark amber color. Not a great head, but it does leave some lacing.

Well the nose is fairly sweet smelling. I’m getting brown sugar and caramel, but that’s about it.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied.

Again, you get the sweet malts with brown sugar and caramel. There is the baked apple thing going on, typical of an amber ale.

Not much to say about this one. It’s an okay beer. I wouldn’t reject it, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it. 83 points.
