Boulevard Single-Wide IPA

This is Boulevard’s year-round IPA. The beer features Amber, Cara 50, Munich, Pale and Wheat malts with Bravo, Cascade, Centennial, Citra, CTZ, and Palisade hops. I’ve liked most the Boulevard’s I’ve had, so I expect this to be a quality beer.

American India Pale Ale. 5.7% ABV. 57 IBUs. Missouri. Best by 1/1/12

Yellow orange, and hazy in appearance. Nice head and lacing.

Uhm, well there’s not too much going on on the nose here. You get a little bit of hop and a little bit of citrus, but otherwise it’s surprisingly closed.

Mouthfeel is too light.

Pine and citrus, but leans to the piney side, but honestly there isn’t much going on here. Other than that hop profile you don’t get much of anything. There’s very little complexity, and I’d call this beer a one-trick pony.

There’s really just nothing to like about this beer. It doesn’t fill your palate with flavor, instead it just gives you some hints of hops but with the full amount of bitterness. It’s like bitter water. I havn’t had that much Boulevard, but what I’ve had has been a much better product than this. I’m disappointed. 76 points.
