Scuttlebutt Tell Tale Red

This is a relatively new beer from Scuttlebutt. This red ale is brewed with Columbus and Amarillo hops, but the website doesn’t list the malts used. Let’s see how it is.

American Red Ale. 5.0% ABV. 42 IBUs. Washington.

Reddish-brown color with some nice lacing on the glass.

Not much coming through on the nose. I’m getting a little bready-ness from the malts and maybe a hint of citrus, but that’s really about it.

Good medium bodied mouthfeel.

Wow, this is light. Bready malts dominate the flavor profile. I do get some orange, but again, that’s about it.

This is way too light and hollow. Way off the mark on this one. 73 points.
