Fremont Summer Solstice

This is a Summer seasonal from Fremont. I’ve liked the two beers that I’ve had from them so far, so I’m excited to try this one. I’m also excited because all this beer features is 2-row Pale malt and Amarillo hops, that’s it.

American Pale Ale. 5.2% ABV. Washington. Summer Seasonal.

Golden yellow color. Head doesn’t really last all that long, but it does leave some lacing.

Amazing hop aroma. It’s full of bright citrus with a hint of pine. The hops overwhelm the grain, but considering it smells amazing, that’s okay.

Mouthfeel is actually fantastic. It’s medium bodied. It’s a summer beer, so it’s easy drinking, but still has some weight.

Citrus and pine fill the palate with the grain undertone. You get all kinds of fruit here as well, especially this great coconut meets black pepper thing. The hops do bring some bitterness, where the grain flavor really shows.

This is just fantastic, and you need to go grab this beer. It’s totally delicious, and everything that a minimized beer should be, and a great Summer beverage. 91 points.
