Chuckanut Helles Lager

This Helles is on tap now at Chuckanut. The Helles is similar to a pils, but less hoppy. It’s light, low in alcohol, and very easy-drinking. It’s the good kind of yellow fizzy beer.

Munich Helles Lager. 5.0% ABV. 20 IBUs. Washington.

Yellow color with a bright white head.

The nose has a ton of bready and grainy malts and some lemon, it’s also got a slight hint of tobacco.

Mouthfeel is very nice. Lighter body and good drinkability.

Lots of malty-ness that brings a lot of grain and bread with lemon zest. The finish tastes like I just put a bunch of grains in my mouth with some grape nuts action and a hint of tobacco and a slight bitter component almost not worth mentioning.

I love this. It’s full-flavored, sessionable, and delicious. This is definitely a beer you need to try while at Chuckanut. 90 points.
