Bridgeport Blue Heron

This is Bridgeport’s pale, and was first brewed in ’87 as a special release for the Audubon Society. I know it has Cascade hops from Oregon as explained in the little video on the website, but not sure about what else is in this one.

American Pale Ale. 4.9% ABV. 25 IBUs. Oregon.

Burnt orange color, head doesn’t seem to stay at all.

Not much going on on the nose. All I get is some malt and citrus.

Mouthfeel is a bit too light, but higher carbonation makes this is very easy drinking sessioner.

The palate is quite similar to the nose. Lots of malt and a very citrusy and hay flavored mid-palate. Only slight bitterness on the back but not a lot of hop presence and the finish is a pretty short.

It’s certainly sessionable, but that’s all I really see in this beer. 80 points.
