Peace Tree Cornucopia

This is a farmhouse ale brewed with stocks of Iowa sweet corn. Other than that, I don’t know anything else about this beer. This is the last beer in the package that I got from @fnbarrett, thanks again man!

Saison. Iowa.

The appearance is pale yellow and hazy with a quickly fading white head.

The nose is actually pretty good. You get that funky saison style nose with lots of yeast mixed in with corn, black pepper, and honey.

Mouthfeel is light, perhaps a little too light even for the style.

Honey and light fruit that mix with yeast and a slight tartness. Corn does come through, but doesn’t over-power, and there’s a nice spice, black pepper component. Definitely corn on the finish with a surprisingly large amount of bitterness.

My biggest problem with this beer is that the bitterness is too high on the finish, either from the hops, or perhaps the stocks also add bitterness. Otherwise, I think this is a solid saison. Now, I am partial to the style, but I’m enjoying the hell out of this. 88 points.
