Dogfish Head Punkin Ale

IMG_4829

So this review is pretty old, but I finally just got the pictures of it off of my girlfriends computer. This Fall pumpkin beer is one of the most beloved of all the pumpkin beers. This beer is brewed with pumpkin, spices, and brown sugar. So far, I hadn’t been that impressed with any pumpkin beers, until this one.

Stats:
Pumpkin Ale. 7.0% ABV. Delaware. Fall Seasonal.

Coppery in color, with a hint of orange and leaves a decent head.

The nose is phenomenal. Pumpkin pie spices with a really nice toasted nut aroma.

The body is good, but highly carbonated, although that seems to work alright here.

The palate is just like the nose, with pumpkin pie spices dominating with a gorgeous toasted note. The only thing I dislike about this beer is the backend. It’s considerably bitter, and I think the alcohol is a bit too high.

Pretty damn good beer, and check it out when it comes around next Fall. 88 points.
