Josephs Brau Oktoberfest

Here’s an Oktoberfest beer that I found in my parents fridge. It’s a little late in the year for the beer, so I’m not sure it’s available at Trader Joe’s currently. Let’s see if it’s any good.

Marzen. 5.3% ABV. California. Fall Seasonal.

Light coppery color, a little lighter than most in the style.

The nose is pretty light, but it has a caramel and biscuit character, with some raisins and pears.

Again, on the lighter side. A bit too light but highly sessionable.

Flavor has a lot of biscuit, caramel, and a bit nutty. Thins out before the finish, and has quite a lot of nuts and biscuit on the finish.

Very sessionable intro to the style, but not much more than that. 83 points.
