Unibroue Trois Pistoles

Here is another Unibroue from a 4 mixed pack that I got. This is a Belgian strong dark ale with a considerable dark malt-forward profile.

Belgian Strong Dark Ale. 9.0% ABV. 15.5 IBUs. Canada.

Dark brown in color, head goes away quickly.

Belgian yeast on the nose with a ton of fruit. Dark fruits with plums, raspberries, honey, maple, brown sugar, molassis, and raisins.

Medium bodied with slightly high carbonation.

Some really nice flavors here. All of the nose is coming through. Slightly sweet, with a really nice honey, brown sugar combination. Alcohol comes through just a tad, though.

Good stuff here. Again, you get that very Belgian flavor, and similar to other Belgians and Unibroue beers. But it has great complexity and flavor, and it’s just delicious. 90 points.

…what I said about about La Fin Du Monde 😉

Actually, I found a Trois Pistoles goblet at the same store the next time I was in town, again for the bargain price of only $3.99. This one sounds more up my alley than the other one though. I love me some Belgian Strong Dark Ales!
