Bridgeport Haymaker

This extra pale ale, or blonde ale, is Bridgeport’s Summer seasonal. Bridgeport was really vague in telling you what malts and hops are in this. In a video on their website they claim it has German and Czech hops and German malts….okay. Let’s see how it tastes.

American Blonde Ale. 5.3% ABV. 15 IBUs. Oregon. Available May through September.

Pale blonde color, head fades really quickly.

Very malty nose with straw and a hint of banana and clove. I like the slight orange zest aroma as well.

Light and spritzy mouthfeel.

It tastes like the aroma, but with a bit more fruit. Very malty, hardly any hops. Gets quite fruity in the midpalate and then ends with a malty and lemon flavor.

Not the greatest beer, but it’s a decent summer brew. I’ll recommend this one. 86 points.

We’ve got to get this trade going soon. That stuff looks good, and I haven’t met a Bridgeport anything I don’t like.
