Stone Cali-Belgie

This beer is the exact same as the Stone IPA, but they used a Belgian yeast in it, instead of their normal one. It features Columbus, Centennial, and Chinook hops.

Belgian India Pale Ale. 6.9% ABV. California.

Golden color with nice white head.

Definitely hops on the nose, with a ton of citrus. Smells really similar to their regular IPA, with perhaps a little bit of yeast.

Medium bodied, good mouthfeel.

A ton of citrus, even more than the regular IPA. The yeast seems to bring out the citrus. A little bit of yeast flavor, but this is just overloaded with citrus with a little bit of pine resin. There are some tobacco flavors on the end. There are some slight funk/cheese flavors that are a bit subtle on the palate, but I dig them.

I wouldn’t necessarily suggest this over the regular Stone IPA. I like this, but I don’t find it amazing. 87 points.
