Deschutes Red Chair IPA
Apart of the Bond Street Series, the Red Chair IPA is a seasonal IPA from May to September. I couldn’t find information on the hops in this beer, but I do know it has seven different malts including crystal and pilsner varieties, as well as, domestic versions of cara-pils and Munich (from the Deschutes blog).
Stats:
India Pale Ale. 6.4% ABV. 55 IBU’s. Oregon.
Typical IPA look, amber/orange hue, with little head, more lacing.
Lots of hops on the nose, good pine smell. Oddly enough, I get a pickle smell, with some great citrus on it as well.
Great drinkability, good carbonation.
Obviously hoppy. Great pine taste to it. Bitterness on the back, but not over the top. Very well balanced. I get lots of pine nuts on the finish.
I love this beer as much as my previous favorite IPA, the dogfish head 60 minute. This is why Deschutes continues to be one of my favorite breweries. 92 points.
