Der Hirschbrau Bavarian-Weissbier Hefeweisse
Couldn’t find out much about this brewery. Their website was all in German. Those of you who don’t know, hefeweizens are unfiltered, wheat beers. Hefe means “with yeast”, hence their cloudy appearance.
Stats:
Hefeweizen. 4.7% ABV. Germany.
Fairly yellow color, with an orange tint. A little bit of head, but doesn’t last long.
Wheaty, and yeasty on the nose, with a lot of banana coming through. Also some orange, lemon, vanilla and cinnamon coming through a bit as well. I’m also getting a nice honey/mead like aroma.
Very light mouthfeel, crisp and clean, but not overly carbonated.
Wheaty, and yeasty on the palate as well. Biscuity, with all the same fruits coming through, especially banana.
Actually seems very similar to Hoegaarden to me, which I like, but was expecting more. 88 points.
You can always find a hefe on tap these days, and it’s usually Widmer or something similar, but I love Pyramid’s, and will usually get that if it is on tap. What do you prefer?

I’d really like to try this. Where did you find it, sir?
You might wanna check out 99 Bottles on Pac Hwy sometime. I need to take a trip over there as well, havn’t been yet.
